Create HB Order in GAM

GAMDaemon allows you to create prebid campaign/order in GAM for tracking prebid impressions & revenue.

Prerequisite info:

  • HB mode
  • Advertiser name (GAM)
  • Ad type
  • Ad Sizes
  • Targeting inventory in GAM
  • Prefix
  • Supported Key-values
  • Bidders to be integrated
  • Bid granularity/Price buckets

It is helpful if the above information is known before hand.

Step 1: Network Details:

Select the GAM network (this will depend on how many network you have access to)

Step 2: Activity details:

Assign an activity name and Select the category: Prebid Order creation.

This will prompt for HB mode (https://docs.prebid.org/adops/send-all-vs-top-price.html). Please select the option as required for the prebid integration.

Step 3: Config

Note, selecting 'Send Top' in last step will prompt another option for Advertiser name (for GAM), as the line items will be created under this entity in GAM.

Enter the info (ad type, ad size) needed for the Prebid config in the respective fields. Note, if the prebid config is to be confined to a inventory, please select the GAM ad unit(s) in the designated field.

HB Prefix:

If you wish to use custom prefixes, please define the prefix and key for ad-server targeting in the prebid bidder settings. More info can be found here - https://docs.prebid.org/features/adServerKvps.html#completely-custom-kvps

Key Values:

adId, format and pb keys are sent by default, however you can choose to insert more keys like pubUrl, cachePath, uuid, mediaType, env, clickUrlUnesc, targetingMap.

Based on what prefix was added, the prefix will be added to these keys.

Bidders:

All the prebid live bidders are available in the list, so when they are selected, their bidder code will be targeted in the line item (Send All) and/or Bidder key-value (Send Top) will be created in GAM.

Bid Granularity:

The prebid price bucketing can be controlled by this setting. GAMDaemon supports all the prebid

Price granularity settings (https://docs.prebid.org/adops/price-granularity.html#price-granularity-explained), apart from a novel granularity called 'Custom'. This custom option helps in creating staggered price buckets if you hope to target only specific price points.

Step 4: Summary

This is the confirmation stage, where you can see all the selected options before the config is sent to GAMDaemon backend for pushing to your GAM network.

In case there are any changes needed, please select 'back' button and update the config.

Note, the Next button becomes available only after all the information is provided.

After the activity is submitted, you may see the progress for the created activity on the Dashboard>Activity, by clicking the view button 👁.
